Visakhapatnam, June 23, 2017 (dns online) : The priests and supporting staff of Department of Endowments went of protest for the consecutive third day on Friday. The North Andhra Archaka Association led by Mr. Srinivasa Dixitulu, and supporting staff state president Mr. Krishnamacharyulu directed the protesting camp with various activities here in Visakhapatnam.
The prime objectives of their stir was to implement 65 A, as directed by the Apex Indian Court, in which a minimal wage of Rs. 10,000 be given to archaka who discharge duties in Dept of Endowments in Andhra Pradesh, which was due for two decades. Mr. Dixitulu and team staged a kneel down walk at the Gandhi statue opposite to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, after performing Chandiyagam at the camp.
The priests from all the 13 districts of the newly formed state were participated in this protest. As their statistics, the executive officer or beyond staff were paid beyond Rs. 70,000 where as the archaka in the same temple had only Rs. 3500. They warned the state government, the temple doors be closed from June 30, if they demands will not fulfilled. Earlier, the State Opposition leader Mr. YS Jagan, supported this stir for livelihood.
